Breakfast Club
Why hurry or worry about being late? Come to Breakfast Club instead.
The Breakfast Club is open every weekday from 8:00am to 8.50am during term time, excluding INSET days, and provides quality care for the pupils of Pentland Infant and Nursery School enabling parents/carers to work or study beyond statutory school hours, safe in the knowledge that their children are fine and happy and enjoying themselves.
Staff members Mrs Nasir and Mrs Bashir run the club in the Pentland Well-being Centre and provide a happy, safe, warm and stimulating environment for our children. We are able to take up to 16 children at one time from Nursery to Year 2.
A good, healthy breakfast is the most important meal of the day and we ensure that this is the case for our children. Every child in our breakfast club is offered a nutritious breakfast, preparing them for the learning and play that lies ahead of them in the school day. There is always a choice on offer and we encourage children to taste new foods.
Children are encouraged to take an active part in the club - helping with deciding activities, setting out breakfast and clearing away. While sitting together to eat, the children chat and share experiences and ideas.
The club is informal and friendly, allowing children a choice as to how they start the day: some children like to wake up slowly, others prefer to get on and play. A range of free play activities are on offer, as well as more structured activities. The children often also enjoy a sports session in the hall.
Places can be booked on a full week or daily basis and are allocated on a first come first served basis. If you are interested please see Mrs Valli in the school office.
The Breakfast Club has a cost of £1.00 per day. This includes a healthy nutritious breakfast and a wide range of activities.
