Charges
Every child at Pentland Infant and Nursery is entitled to the following, without any charge being made:
• Education provided during school hours (including the supply of any materials, books, instruments or other equipment);
• Education provided outside school hours if it is part of the National Curriculum, or part of the school’s basic curriculum for religious education.

After School Clubs | There is no charge made for After School Clubs which are run by school staff. The school’s Pupil Premium funding is used to cover the costs of these. However, those clubs which are run by coaches/staff from outside the employment of the school may incur a small charge (this is kept to the absolute minimum). | Charges vary according to provider, but kept to the minimum possible. End of Day Pick Up times |
School finishes at 3.20pm. If a child is still in school after 3.25 they will go to the end of school late collection service where they will wait with a member of staff. Charges will apply. Morning Nursery and Pre School finish at 11.45am. If a child remains in school after 11.50 they will go into the nursery and wait with a member of staff until they are collected. There is no late pickup service available for Morning Nursery and Pre School children and any child remaining in school after 11.50 will incur a £1 charge. This charge increases to £2.50 after 12pm. |

Lost or damaged books | School reading books and library books are very valuable teaching resources. It is important that they are handled with care so that all children can benefit from their use. Should a book be lost or damaged, parent/carers will be asked to contribute to the replacement of the book. | Lost books charged at £10.00 per item |
Book Bags | Parents/carers are encouraged to purchase a book bag when their child first enters school. This will help to keep their reading and library books safe and clean. This bag can be used throughout the child’s time in school. | £3.00 per bag |
Penalty Notices | In line with the school’s Attendance Policy, should a child be absent from school without authorisation from the Headteacher, then a penalty charge may be applied. | £80 per parent per child if paid within 21 days;£160 if paid within 28 days. Failure to pay could result in the Local Authority taking legal action with the maximum penalty of £2500. |
