Week commencing 4th May 2021

The children have enjoyed learning about dinosaurs for the last few weeks. We have learnt lots about the different types of dinosaur and created our own super writing last week about our favourite dinosaurs. This week we will be learning all about dinosaur fossils. We will also be making our own fossils. We will talk about the instructions that we need to follow to make the fossils before moving on to using our super phonic skills to write out the instructions.

In phonics we will be focusing on the sounds: i, m, n, d. We will be using our fabulous blending and segmenting skills to help us to read and write words with these sounds in. 

In maths we will be continuing to focus on shapes. This week we will be looking at 3d shapes. We will be naming the common shapes such as sphere, cube, cuboid, cone, cylinder. We will then be looking around the environment and thinking of different objects that look like each shape. 

Please remember that Friday is our PE day, please send your child to school in their PE kits.
