Week commencing 27th September

The children have all settled so well into school and are learning the different routines that we have in our classes well. This week we will be introducing the children to the story 'Knuffle Bunny'. We will be carrying out lots of book talk surrounding the book, using the pictures to help us to understand what is happening and beginning to talk about why. We will be using the story as a stimilus to write notes, letters and captions. The story is about a little girl who loses something special to her. We will develop the children's speaking and listening skills by talking about why we think the object is so special. We will also be inviting the children to share something that is special to them and to tell their friends what makes it special.

In maths we will be focusing on number recognition, learning different rhymes to help us to recognise and write the different numbers.

We will begin our PE lessons on Wednesday morning, children should come to school in their PE kits on Wednesday morning.
