This week we will be reading an alternative story of ‘Jack and the Beanstalk’ called ‘Jim and the Beanstalk’. In this story a boy called Jim befriends the giant and helps him get new glasses, teeth and hair!

Maths

This week we will be continuing to learn about place value within 100. We will be comparing and ordering numbers. We will also be making and measuring Lego beanstalks!

Topic

This week we will be beginning a mini science topic about naming and sorting animals.

We will also be looking at the work of the artist Paul Klee. In particular we will focus on his ‘Castle and Sun’ piece and recreating it in different media.

In PE on Thursday, we will be taking part in our sponsored Pentland Pentathlon.

After our Pentland Pentathlon ask your child to show you some of the activities they took part in.
