This week we will be using story maps to retell the traditional story of Jack and the Beanstalk. We will be using playscripts to act out the story too. We also have a magic beanstalk growing around the classtroom! At the end of the week the children will be witing an imaginative story entitled ‘If I had a magic bean…’

Maths

This week we will be continuing to learn about place value within 100. We will be doing this by making 10’s, counting forwards and backwards within 100 and partitioning numbers. We will also be using the 100 square to complete lots of mathematical activities.

Topic

On Monday the children will be planting a broad bean and recording what they needed in their very own bean diary.

As part of our computing we will be using the Netbooks to complete some of our work.

We will also be thinking about our dad’s and why they are brilliant.

In PE on Thursday, we will be continuing our Imoves PE dance unit ‘The Key Quest’.

Ask your child if they can tell you how many tens and ones there are in different numbers within 100.

Ask your child to tell you about how they planted their broad bean.
