Review of week beginning 4th November

We hope you all had a lovely half term break.

 

English

At the beginning of the week the children were learning all about Diwali, the Hindu festival of light. The children listened to the story of Rama and Sita and practised retelling it and sequencing it.

At the end of the week the children wrote a recount all about their trip to Dewsbury Town Hall for the BIG Sing.

 

Maths

We have now moved onto to our 'Addition and Subtraction' topic and the children have been using their knowledge of number bonds to 10, 20 and 100 to help them solve problems.

 

Curriculum

What a fabulous morning we had singing and performing the songs that we had been learning with 9 other local schools at the Dewsbury Big Sing.

In Science the children were learning about Life Processes: Movement, Sensitivity, Growth, Reproduction, Excretion and Nutrition.

The children have also been learning about the significance of 'Remembrance Day' and everyone made a poppy during our Friday afternoon art workshop.
