Review of Week beginning 18th November

We have been reading the Julia Donaldson book 'Room on the Broom'. The children have been acting out parts of the story and putting themselves in the role of the characters. The children read a diary extract from the dog explaining his version of events and then they had to write a diary from the birds point of view. The children produced some excellent written pieces and now understand much more about the features of a diary.

Maths

We are continuing with our 'Addition and Subtraction' topic and the children have been learning how to add and subtract across a 10. Tricky stuff, but luckily we have some marvellous mathematicians.

Curriculum

We had a visit from our PCSO's, Joe and Lewis, on Wednesday morning to talk about road safety and afterwards the children designed some road safety posters.

In PE we have started our Yoga unit and the children have been practsing various poses.

As part of our art lesson the children were investiagting using maps as a stimulus for drawing. The children then re-created their recent journey from Pentland to Dewsbury Town Hall in their sketch books.
